DAY AFTER DAY

As a leaf renews its freshness every dawn –
through radiant dew, its greenness sustained –
I leave each slumber as though newly born,
For every mom, Your steadfast love is gained!

I may still have a long way to travel,
and sidetracks are possible here and there;
I guess, for me to say that I am able,
nature's constant rebirth, I must consider.

Thus, I am to take one step at a time
and regard each good stride as a blessing;
As my last end seems a faint . . . distant chime,
let each day with You arrest my longing.

Why should I look that far and feel empty
with every care that poses to dismay
when time’s transcended by Your reality?
Yes, You are surely with me, day after day!
